- ➤ Savoy 16 will show free kids movies this summer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. starting June 3 — two films will be shown on different screens — as part of a program kept in place by Phoenix Theatres Entertainment. ChambanaMoms

- ➤ Last Wednesday, UI students took a step in their business plans at Demo Day for the Cozad New Venture Challenge, where 200 teams showed ideas from making medical devices to building apps. Judges will name a top winner on April 17 with prizes worth thousands of dollars — many inventions are still in early test stages. WCIA
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery in Champaign announced plans to create a pollinator patch and beehive by planting various flower species to support bees and butterflies. Horticulture Manager Ian Asklund said the patch will bloom fully in a couple years—boosting the farm’s sustainability. WCIA

- ➤ Residents in Rantoul are warned that water may appear murky today as the Village begins flushing water mains until April 25. The work will occur Monday through Friday (7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.), so customers should check their water before washing clothes or cooking. WCIA
