- ➤ The Public Works Forestry Section is putting up a wood-carved spring display in Downtown Champaign—residents are invited to visit the northeast corner of Walnut and Chester to see the vibrant art up close. The display brings a lively spring spirit to the area. City of Champaign
- ➤ Today, the First Followers New Horizons transitional home opened and is looking for incarcerated women to join a program that helps them find work and attend school. The home was created by director Casandis Hunt in a partnership with the Housing Authority of Champaign County—designed to offer a safe space for a new start. WAND

- ➤ In Paris, the Edgar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run that killed 34-year-old Dakota J. Gibson on April 12 at about 8:27 p.m.—it has submitted a warrant request for an unnamed suspect and will share more details as the case develops. WCIA

- ➤ D&S Sewer Service will close the westbound lane of White Street in front of 512 W. White Street, just east of Lynn Street, on Monday, April 21 to complete a sanitary sewer connection, and it will reopen on or before Monday, April 28, weather permitting & local traffic will be affected during the work. - ➤ Champaign County METCAD named Tiegen Reynolds Telecommunicator of the Year during National Public Safety Telecommunications Week—her co-workers selected her for her kind, clear phone work in just two years on the job.
