- ➤ Illinois House passed a bill last week requiring air quality monitors in all active classrooms; state officials expect to spend about $10 million on monitors statewide & the bill now heads to the Senate for review. WAND

- ➤ Residents can now drop off up to five gallons of food scraps for a monthly fee of $15 at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana, as nonprofit Champaign County Environmental Stewards partners with Chicago-based WasteNot to simplify composting for those without home systems (including food waste, coffee grounds, and yard waste).
