- ➤ Starting Thursday, May 7, Stark Excavating will install a sewer system on Honeysuckle Lane north of Paula Drive, closing the lane for two to three weeks while ensuring pedestrian access & allowing street parking for nearby properties. City of Champaign

- ➤ Allerton Park’s Peony Garden is in full bloom in early May in Monticello. Families can visit the garden and explore nearly 70 varieties of peonies on accessible paths from 8 a.m. until sunset, with the renovated Visitors Center (open daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and an on-site café offering local treats. - ➤ CU Ballet will move its Nutcracker shows to Virginia Theatre in downtown Champaign (Dec. 4-6) to add 500 seats per performance after sold-out crowds at its longtime home. ChambanaMoms
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ ALDI has recalled over 2,800 cases of its Specially Selected vanilla crème brûlée because tests found the dessert may contain glass fragments. The product, sold in an individual gas container, was distributed in Illinois and six other states after the recall was announced on April 14. WAND
