ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At midnight on Tuesday the Urbana Fire Department answered a call for a big fire at a six-unit apartment building on the 1500 block of Hunter Street—firefighters put out the blaze in 20 minutes with no injuries while five residents were displaced. WICS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Three people were arrested in Urbana on Monday in separate illegal weapons incidents—one was a convicted felon from Chicago facing charges near the 800 block of Oakland Avenue, and a man and woman from St. Louis, Mo., were detained after a domestic call on S. Philo Road where two firearms were found. WCIA

- ➤ Fire and rescue teams from the Savoy and Tolono Fire Departments, Carle Ambulance and Champaign County Emergency Management Agency held a drill at Willard Airport to practice quick, coordinated help in case of an aircraft accident— the exercise meets Federal Aviation Administration guidelines— using volunteers as victims. - ➤ The Illinois House passed a plan on Tuesday to protect the Mahomet aquifer—Illinois’ sole water source for 800,000 people—by stopping carbon sequestration near it. The bill, which had Senate backing, faced opposition from the Illinois Manufacturers' Association that urged Gov. Pritzker to veto it. WAND
