  • Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet and Rantoul offer free summer meals for children through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Program. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Champaign police responded to a car crash near West William Street and Fairoaks Drive just after 12:00 p.m. on Sunday over Memorial Day weekend—no injuries were reported and a tow company removed the vehicle.  WCIA
  • An 11-year-old boy was hit by a train near the grade school in Thomasboro around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday as he tried to cross the tracks—he broke his ankle and was taken to a hospital.  WCIA
