Good morning, Champaign.

Champaign County officials announced the Summer Cooling program will help 200 to 350 low-income households stay cool in extreme heat by offering up to $1,000 in bill assistance, and eligible residents may apply starting June 9 at local centers — Brookens Administrative Center in Urbana, the Round Barn Road location, and the Rantoul Business Center. Residents not eligible for this program should contact their utility companies for help with power assistance.

On May 30, Urbana firefighters responded to a house fire at 1701 E.

Champaign County Crime Stoppers used anonymous tips last month to help police arrest six suspects, seize four illegally held firearms, ammunition and drugs — and award $11,100 in cash rewards for the tips.
