- ➤ Experience Champaign-Urbana has launched a free challenge—the C-U on the Trail Pass—that helps families find 55 scenic trails for summer outdoor fun; readers can also join the Champaign County Forest Preserve District to explore 32 trails and earn a free t-shirt if they complete the activity by Dec. 31. - ➤ Pygmalion in Champaign County released its 2025 lineup that will feature comedy shows with Bob The Drag Queen on Sept. 18, Josh Johnson on Sept. 19, and Hannibal Buress on Sept. 20 — musical acts like Snow Strippers, EarthGang, and Momma and an 18-piece chamber orchestra performing immersive audio-visual concerts at Parkland College will add more flair to the three-day event. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ OSF Healthcare announced plans to merge Urbana’s Heart of Mary and Danville’s Sacred Heart Hospital into one hospital with two campuses that will be reviewed by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board during a public comment period. If approved, the Urbana campus will expand its behavioral health services, certain clinical services will move to Danville or Bloomington, and Champaign’s two urgent care locations will shut by Jan. 1 (a similar plan in LaSalle and Peru Counties was delayed due to opposition).
