- ➤ On June 17, 2025, Ashland Park HOA held a neighborhood cleanup near the ponds on North Prospect Avenue where nine volunteers collected 12 bags of trash with supplies from Neighborhood Services and saved about $1700. The group will hold another cleanup today at the commons area on Sharp Drive and Luria Lane. City of Champaign
- ➤ On June 18, staff from the Neighborhood Services Department volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity homebuild on Cypress Drive (helping install siding) as part of a series of projects to provide safe, affordable housing. - ➤ On June 17th, the city's Planning and Development Department held a Developer’s Forum at Papa Del’s Pizza Factory with 57 people attending. Senior Planner Eric Van Buskirk explained the Downtown Plan update and market analysis—Fire Chief Andy Quarnstrom and Planning Manager T.J. - ➤ Aetna Better Health of Illinois hosted a pop-up farmer’s market in Decatur on Friday to give free produce and health screening services through a local partnership. The group will bring its next market to Champaign on July 19 to offer fresh fruits and Medicaid sign-up help—expanding its community health efforts. WCIA

- ➤ Since January, the City has issued 13 permits for new single-family homes — built on empty lots in subdivisions like Boulder Ridge, Legends of Champaign, and Jacobs Landing — and 299 permits for multi-family units near Campustown, Downtown, and the In-Town Districts.
