ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday night at 10:30 p.m., firefighters extinguished a fire at an unoccupied, condemned multi-family apartment building on Kenwood Road in Champaign—passersby reported the blaze and investigators are still looking for its cause while no one was injured. WAND
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Champaign County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is closed today as it moves from the Brookens Administrative Center to the Bennett Administrative Center at 102 E. Main St in Urbana and will reopen on July 21. Community members can still access services online for tax payments and voter registration though processing times may be longer. WCIA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Urbana Park District warned community members to be aware of ticks in local parks after reports showed pets got ticks on Thursday—staff posted extra signs and advise checking yourself and your pets after park visits. The group urges park-goers to stay on paths and remove ticks quickly to reduce the risk of tick-borne illnesses. WCIA
