  • Champaign’s National Night Out brought neighbors and first responders together on Tuesday night - the event featured food, games, and activities designed to build trust between law enforcement and the community. Organizers said the repeated gatherings in Garden Hills will offer ongoing chances for residents and officials to connect.  WICS

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Andrew Ward, 35, of Allerton was killed in a crash at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 5 near Urbana at 1600 E and Old Church Road — he was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m. and the accident is under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office —.  WAND
  • A Champaign County Sheriff's deputy was in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Lincoln Avenue in Urbana on August 7 at 4:14 a.m. and was taken to a local hospital where the deputy is in serious but stable condition—Urbana Police are investigating the crash.  WICS
