CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Champaign Police responded to a shooting just after 3 a.m. on Aug. 24 when they found 35-year-old RL Selvin with fatal gunshot wounds in a parking lot on West Springfield Avenue and transported him to Carle Foundation Hospital, where he died just after 3:30 a.m.—two men, Tyson Moore and Deandre Newbill, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder as the investigation continues. - ➤ Champaign police arrested Tyson Moore and Deandre Newbill on first-degree murder charges after a fatal shooting on the 2500 block of W. Springfield Avenue that injured a 35-year-old male victim from Urbana — police recovered two firearms and later found a vehicle used in his killing. WICS
- ➤ Urbana Patrol Officers responded early Monday on the 1200 block of South Vine Street when a suspicious vehicle was reported and found two people inside; one officer was exposed to an unknown substance, lost consciousness and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital — both individuals were arrested on controlled substance charges. - ➤ An Urbana officer was hospitalized and other responding officers were treated after suspected drug exposure during a call at a suspicious vehicle on the 1200 block of South Vine St.—two people were arrested on controlled substance charges early Monday. WAND
