- ➤ Residents in Champaign and nearby communities can register online for a Fall Electronics Recycling event on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Parkland College—where a 15-minute time slot will ensure quick drop off of old TVs, computer monitors and other electronics. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Illinois Department of Labor released its 2025 Labor Day Report on Sept. 1, showing nearly $3 million in recovered back wages & almost $5 million in fines from labor law violations. The report also noted that the minimum wage increased to $15 an hour from Jan. 1 and a $4.5 million child labor settlement was reached, along with new pay transparency requirements and the resolution of 460 wage claims.
