- ➤ The Japanese lifestyle chain Ebisu Life Store opened Dec. 8 at 524 E. Green St. (Suite 101) in Champaign, drawing crowds with international goods such as snacks, skincare and collectible toys. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A moving truck at 3614 Freedom Boulevard will cause the northbound lane to close between Yankee Lane and the entrance to Carle on Curtis (just south of Curtis Road) on Friday, Dec. 19 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; southbound traffic will continue as usual. City of Champaign
- ➤ The Village of Tolono held a public hearing this week on its proposed TIF district — a plan with no ties to a rumored data center — as residents voiced concerns about resource diversion. Village President Terrance Stuber said discussions with potential data center representatives continue for future evaluation. WICS
