- ➤ Restoration Urban Ministries in Champaign will reopen its transitional housing program in January despite a fire damaging one building over the weekend + the nonprofit will begin with about eight rooms and later expand to serve up to 100 people. WICS
- ➤ On Tuesday, Dec. 16, Champaign Police and the Equity & Engagement Department joined law enforcement and community partners at Meijer for a Shop with a Cop event, gifting 92 children in 36 families holiday presents. Families later shared a meal as Santa and Mrs. Claus visited. City of Champaign

- ➤ Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs announced on Thursday that three food pantries in Danville, Urbana, and Lincoln received part of a $100,000 total from the ICash program (with Danville Rescue receiving $2,070.20, Eastern Illinois Foodbank getting $148.21, and Lincoln Logan Food Pantry receiving $278).
